A Time To Dance

(7:30 Overview)

This overview was produced from the rough footage we had from rehearsals. When our premiere fell on September 11, 2001, we were left to pick up the pieces and try to convey the story as best we were able to at the time.

The auDEO Story

(10:30 Overview)

auDEO came into my life following the devastation I went through with my first musical and losing almost everything as a result of 9-11. Music was dead inside me for many years when slowly new music began to pour out of me in a way I never knew how to compose.

Composing Tsunami

(3:12)

This musical composition and performance was inspired in 2004 by a poem written by a gifted poet, Frances Patton Statham, who wrote it after the Sri Lanka tsunami disaster. I wanted to interpret musically what was happening beneath the earth and commemorate one of nature’s most horrific attacks on humanity. This video shows the composing technique I developed to produce it. The composition ended up as part of the auDEO album published in 2006 and in 2020 was awarded 1st place in music by the National League of American Pen Women, given to that year’s top Artist, Writer and Composer.

Candace Long Songs

(6:22 Montage)

The first sense of “calling” I had was as a songwriter in 1975. I was in and out of Nashville for many years working with publishers and other writers to develop my craft and learn how to communicate better through music. This montage contains some of my favorites.

I published two instrumental albums coming out of my wilderness period:

Meditation (2003) and auDEO (2006)
